What was your experience the first time around? Do you enjoy being a mother?

My first experience was a wonderful but very short lived moment. I lost my first child when he was just hours old. But was blessed many times over after-wards.

I can still recall each time one of my children were laid in my arms, the way they cried and felt, it is a wonderful feeling. I just had my last (hopefully, as long as I have my way and my husband can't talk me into another :)) child 1 month and one day ago.

Being a mother has changed me 150%. Having my children has made me realize that the world doesn't revolve around just what I want. I love spending time with them, coloring, reading, playing video game, or even the new venture that my oldest allows me to accompany her on, shopping trips. I can honestly say that just being with my kids, there isn't anything in this world that makes me happier.

OK only another mother would understand this, but just seeing an honest smile appear on a little face you helped create is the best feeling in the world or hearing that same little person call out 'mommy!!!!!'

:D I LOVE being a mom!

It gives you a reason to live, to live life to the fullest. It completely changes you life. The world now revolves around this child and kepping him nurtured and safe.
Being a mother was the best thing I ever did. My two boys are men now but I still miss being a mother when they were young. There is nothing like it. And being there for them now as adults rocks too.
I can tell you being a first-time mother is hard. The baby cries and you never know if what you are doing is right. I just read every book I could get my hands on. It all worked out. I suggest lots of books on how to dicipline a child too. No one teaches you this and it is so important.
Good Luck

I found out how deeply and truly I could love someone without limits or conditions. With my first child I was pretty young so it was very difficult because I was still pretty selfish but that changed. I don't know if I would say I "enjoy" being a mother but I would not change it for the world.

Being a mother to 3 beautiful children is the greatest gift that I have ever been given, I thought my life was pretty wonderful before I had them, but my capacity to love knows no bounds, every time I drop my daughter at school I watch her walk into the playground and a piece of my heart goes with her everyday.
They are little pieces of me and my wonderful husband and I thank god everyday for giving me three little human beings to love and cherish!

I have an 18 month old son whom we adopted at the age of 8 weeks. Unable to have children, he has been the best thing in my life. It has been an unbelievable experience. I melt when he calls me mommy. I can't tell you if the feelings I have are extra special since I couldn't get pregnant, or my feelings would be this high if I had given birth. I feel extremely lucky to have him, and thank God everyday that we were chosen to be his parents. It's sad thinking what my life would be like without him.

A woman cannot understand what mother's love is until she becomes a mother, there is nothing like a mom's love.
It did change my life a lot, I don't think about me anymore, I only think about them, but this will never end, even if they reach 50 years old I will keep worrying about them.

i love being a mom. it has brought so much joy to my life. Having a baby has tought me patience, compassion, love, and understanding. knowing that there is this little human that depends on you for everything is kind of overwhelming. but i wouldnt trade it for anything i love seeing him run around all clueless playing with the dog or dancing to music but being a mom is probably the toughest job in the world. good luck and God Bless

I love being a mom everyday its more and more challenging. She teaches me things i didnt know about myself (such as patience) She keeps me laughing and smiling most of the day. I think that it was really meant for me to have my daughter when i did because i was really going off into the deep end...I was on drugs and drinking and partying. I wasnt being who i should of been.. as soon as i found out i was pregnant i quit everything. It wasnt easy but its all worth it.
