Yeah well my friend lost her site, but she still drives. I guess from memory. I don't know. Anyways, she contends that there is nothing wrong with it. What do ya all think?

Yes, that seems to be a silly question to spend 5 points on to me.

You have to pass a vision test to get your driver's license.

It is legal in Montana for a blind person to drive, but only with another person in the car. If you live in Montana your friend would have to get what they call a "Sight Buddy". This person would act as your eyes and simply tell you what to do really fast. Naturally it is illegal for a blind person to listen to the radio while driving because this would interfere with the directions of the "Sight Buddy". I hope this helps.

yes it is illegal for a blind person to drive there is no way you can drive from memory because you have to factor in all the other cars. Your friend might be legaly blind but can use glasses to see that might be how she is getting around it

I'd say yes. It is illegal in most states. Sight is very important when it comes to drive. Not so much hearing, but sight. You would need to know where you're going. Please tell your friend to stay off the road (as a driver) and take a cab. That way, she won't get in an accident.

How is this different from drinking and driving? Her judgment and reaction time are impaired and she cannot see what's coming at her. Sight buddy in Montana for legally blind person? How can that be possible? Maybe on a farm.

Her doctor is obligated to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles in your state that she has lost her sight or is legally blind (which means they can still see but not well enough to drive).

Make sure you dont let her drive you around!

If she really completely lost her sight, how is she even able to get out of her driveway? Nobody can remember exactly where every curve in the road is, etc.
So, yes, illegal is putting it mildly...

Your friend must have seen the answers coming, being that she's clairvoyant or physic.
Perhaps you should check the laws in Massachusetts they do some crazy driving up there.
Have her read this to you that may give you a clue.
