why does my brand new sifter sift so slow?

it took me an hr to sift a lb of sugar yesterday! Everything was gettting stuck in the middle! It has 3 levels and everything would get stuck in the middle one. Help!

That sounds like the sifter I had . I bought it new and hated it I threw mine away and bought a different style

Because they are the most useless invention on earth. Just use a fine sieve, the way Emeril does. Takes seconds to sift a pound of sugar or flour.

Maybe you put too much of the stuff you are sifting! Handle a small quantity at a time.
