It won't hurt you and it'll will give you sweet breath. Cinnamon is good for diabetics. I also crumble a piece of cinnamon stick over my coffee grounds before I make coffee. It tastes delicious! Enjoy!

I don't know how cinnamon would help you metabolize sugar, since it doesn't work on the cellular level in your blood. It's just a spice, and isn't broken down in your system..much like pepper.

However, the smell in aroma therapy studies have shown to increase endorphin levels in the blood, this may have an effect on the blood in that sense.

Is chewing on cinnamon sticks a new trend?

I don't know about the amounts but, my uncle says that cinnamon helps diabetics metabolize sugar. However, too much of anything is not good.

Don't eat it straight but add a moderate amount for flavour to any dish. It is considered good for heart, especially to control cholesterol!
