That bird. I want to know if it's a male or female. In the corner, it says "White-face slate" because its a white-face slate parakeet.

Any way to tell just by looking at it?

Your picture is of a LOVEBIRD, not a parakeet.
LOVEBIRDS in this peachface family are NOT visually sexed. They must be DNA'ed or proven to be 100% sure.
You cannot tell the sex of this bird simply by looking at it.

That's a kind of lovebird. NOT a parakeet.

Like other non dimorphic(meaning you can't visibly tell the sex) parrots, you can have them DNA tested.

Or, on the other hand, if they are mature, and you've got other birds to compare to, you can gently feel their pelvic bones. close togethr=male far apart=female.

But to do that you really need to have something to compare to, or experience in the area.

The females color stays like a tan color, light brown. The males color changes from a tan, light brown to a blue, dark blue or bluish/purple color. That's a male parakeet.

It would be most PC to take it to dinner and a movie first, then ask very politely ...and maybe it will tell you.
Good Luck
