Where do I go apply for one? I am thinking of travelling to Paris next year. I live in, and was born in the United States.

Thanks in advance for any helpful answers.

It depends on what country you are getting your passport from. But for the US it states 6-8 weeks. I filed mine in May, before the summer, and received my passport in 4 weeks. It really depends on when you file. Give yourself at least 2 months when getting a passport. Make sure when you go to the post office you have everything. You will need to pay two fees. One for processing for the Post Office and one for the government for the passport. The government will accept credit cards but PO does not. So bring a check or you can buy a money order from the PO or your bank. Bring your two pictures 2x2 (if you have digital camera and can print pictures, that's the cheapest way), ID, any expired passports, check or money order, and the filled out form.

Check the times and days the post office will be open for passports. Get there before they open. There will most likely be a line and it takes a while because half the people aren't ready with the paper work and what not.

The price depends on a renewal or a new passport. If renewing you really just have to mail the form with additional paperwork. It's the easiest way. If you get the forms from the post office, it'll explain everything for you.

Go to the P.O. to get a form. You need two small head shots. You need an original birth certificate. The cost last year was $75.00. Mail the money and documents to the address on the form. It takes a few months for the return of the passport. Ours came after 6 weeks.

The passport is good for ten years. Make a few copies of the passport. Leave one at home with a relative. Take a copy in a concealed money belt in case you misplace the original while abroad. The copy will make it easier for you when you go to the embassy in Paris for a replacement.

Paris is beautiful but expensive. Enjoy the trip.

You should go to the US Department of State office in your city.. You can search online for the address and what you need to bring to prove who you are. You'll also have to take passport size pictures. They probably have a machine there. A passport is not a cheap document to get and if you need one ASAP, you can get it but at a higher cost. To get one the regular way doesn't take long. Hope this helps!

in case you have a passport, all you like is a sworn fact asserting she is your spouse and living on an identical handle as yours. It takes a pair of million a million/2 to 2 months for the passport to attain the doorstep
