Five weeks is far too early. Take it back and wait until you are old enough and responsible enough to learn about looking after a dog BEFORE you get one.

I'm sorry sweetie - this puppy is far too young to leave his mama. He really should have been left with her for at least another 2 weeks. You are going to have to work extra hard with him because he will have missed out on all sorts of things that he should have learned from his mom and his litter-mates.
For the moment, you should keep your puppy warm and in a secure enclosed place. Don't let too many people visit for another couple of weeks. Give him a hot water bottle (well wrapped up) and maybe a ticking clock wrapped in a blanket to help calm him.
I wish you good luck with this puppy, but I fear that you have some very hard work ahead if he is to grow up to be a happy, healthy and safe dog. If you can, you should contact your vet to get some more advice and help.

Your puppy will cry all the time untill she is used to her new home. five weeks old is too young to be away from her litter and mom.its also ilegal in many states for a breeder to sell puppys untill 8 weeks of age. but whats done is done.taking her back for 3 weeks now will only confuse her.

5 wks is a tiny baby!! He's used to being warmed by mom & his siblings, so get him a fleece blanket in his bed, or a warm water bottle to snuggle up to. If you have to leave him alone, turn on the tv or radio for him. He's probably used to someone being with him all the time, so it might take him a while to get used to things.

you are REALLY supposed to get the puppy when it's at least 8-11 weeks old...5 weeks is rather early.
But just play with it. show it affection. play with the toys. Dogs also really like to learn. Teach him some tricks..first start out with sit, down, shake..it will metally tire them out and he won't cry anymore because he'll be asleep = )
and also..take it on a walk. puppies are so energetic and they need to lose this energy. it doesn't have to be a long walk..just however long you want.

Yes. Dogs shouldn't be taken from their moms until they're 8 weeks.

Get him a stuffed animal, yes that is way to early to have taken him away, does he eat on his own?? That is when you take him away from his mom. Where did you get him from? Whoever gave him to you that early shouldn't even have a dog if they are that irrasponsoble. The puppy isn't getting all the nutrition he needs from his mothers milk. You probably can't take him back either, most mother animals will not take a puppy back after it has been removed from the home, so don't try and take him back because worse comes to worse she would end up killing him. DO NOT TAKE HIM BACK THE MOTHER COULD END UP KILLING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
