Because Iraq had oil.

But really the question should be: why invade anyone? Wars of aggression (like Iraq was and an attack on Cuba would be) are illegal under international law and have been since the 14th century.

Iraq was not a threat. It had no connection AT ALL with 9/11, the only terrorists being harboured were in the north (i.e. the area controlled by the Kurds (US allies)), and as late as May 2001 the Bush administration were saying that Iraq has no WMDs and didn't constitute a risk to anyone. The US invaded Iraq for political and ideological reasons, and dragged my country along with it.

The result - we're in more danger from terrorists now than in 2001.

The US agreed not to invade Cuba as part of the agreement reached between the USSR and the USA as a resolution of the Cuban missile crisis.
Since the fall of the Soviet empire Cuba is isolated and threat to no one.
I personally I thought the same of Iraq i.e "isolated" and a minor threat. George W. apparently disagreed.

The reason Iraq was invaded is because Saddam Hussein was going to start selling oil in euros rather than dollars and a few other countries were going to follow suit, if this had happened everyone would have started selling their dollars to buy euros and this would have pushed the price of the dollar way down and caused a massive recession in America. With America being the number 1 debtor nation in the world they could not let this happen and wanted to send out a message to all the other countries.

Why invade anyone? That's the sort of thinking that creates terrorism.

What might you do if say someone invaded your house? It's no different when powerful countries go around invading other people thinking they are so much better than others etc. And no - people rarely strike out at people unless they are first violated in someway despite all the racist nonsense we are told that "they are all born terrorist's, every last one of them", we better get them etc, etc.

Perhaps we should grow up and act like decent neighbors to one another. That is unless we like a culture of death and suffering anyway.

P.s we don't need oil either, there are alternative fuels and energies we could be using.

Cuba will change peacefully soon enough. When Castro dies (which will be quite soon now) the hard-liners who follow him will have little support. The Cubans themselves will see the benefits of democratic reform, and seek to initiate a normalization of relations with the US. With their proximity to US soil, they will soon be experiencing dramatic economic improvement, as millions of Americans flock there on vacation.

OIL , REVENGE and Saddam (Iraq) was threatening the US Dollar by creating an oil for Euros market. Same in Iran. Most people do not realize the dollar is worthless and internationally all countries are dumping the dollar and going to Euros to buy oil. Very very soon the stock market will totally collapse. You best get your green money turned into GOLD of you will simply have nothing to buy food with. America is BROOK folks and China and Japan is not going to support this demonic government any longer. It is all part of the NWO plan to destroy America which both the Rep. and Dem are a part of.
