I want to make fish and chips tonight, but only have plain flour. Do I have to use sr flour too? .... can I make plain flour into SR by adding yeast? How do I do it?

yes u can add yeast. but better than that add half teaspoon of soda bi carb to the batter and look how it fluffs and makes the dough spongy and light. to the batter add some spice likehalf tspof chilli powder a finely chopped onion a teaspoon of ginger garlic paste chopped corriander and the end product whether deep fried or baked will be tasty when eaten with tomato sauce

I use self raising flour and water mix to thick paste dip fish into the batter and fry in hot oil,They come out light and crispy

mix the flour 1 egg and some beer for tasty beer batter fish :)

Dip your fish into beaten eggs,then in Instant Potatoes and deep fry until golden brown. You will like them much better.

you can use any flour and yes you can mix them
I am an ex chef. use milk egg flour, tumeric and add whatever spice you want!

you can add some crumbs too with yeast and make good crisp
