I was adopted at a very young age, but i was still aloud visits with my father. He past away when i was 4 years old, but i can remeber the last visit i had with him. We were watching t.v, and a Bill Cosby commercial came on for Jello. He told me that the next time we had a visit, he would bring me some Jello. We never got to have a next visit because of his passing, but everytime a see Bill Cosby on t.v., or a Jello commercial, it reminds me of my father, and that sometimes bad things happen, but we should be thankful for what we do have.
That one memory has affected my life in a good way. It has taught me to treat those you love like you might never see them again. If everyone did this, the world would be such a better place. Sometimes, we dont realize what we have until its too late.

I have so many wonderful childhood memories. I think one of my favorite memories is driving to my grandparent's house. Mom would drive all night and my brother and I would sleep in the back of the car. Of course I would wake-up through out the night and I would marvel at all the stars shimmering in the night. Often their would be snow on the drive up which for a Texan was a big deal. We were allowed to snack on junk food, too.
Grammies and Poppy's house was full of family. Gifts were mounded under the tree and the entire kitchen was buzzing. The aroma was a mix of Gram's fresh baked bread and a variety of cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal, and on and on). The turkey and ham would be in the oven and Gram would have one of the men whipping enough potatoes to feed about 30 hungry faces.
After dinner we would sit and open gifts. The kids would be Santa for the evening. I was not thrilled with this highly thought of position because I would often mix-up my two uncles (Tom and Don). Grammie always made us something either a sweatshirt or nightgown. Everyone was given something that Gram sewed.
The explosion of wrapping paper would be tamed and tossed into the garage. We would then be treated to fruit pies, pumpkin pie, cookies, and brownies.
Makes me want to go to Gram's really bad now. I will be checking flight prices. Anything for one of Gram's homemade goodies.

Bulleseye, cold meat sandwiches, and french fancies always remind me of Sunday tea time in my house when I was a young child. We used o have a bath, then mum would dry our hair while dad would make the tea. We would have left over meat sandwiches, ready salted crisps and french fancies. We would watch things like Bullseye, Gloria hunnyford, and Howards End!!!!

We grew up on a farm, so there are a lot of humorous farm memories i'd desire to help you comprehend. I spent an entire summer season as quickly as stalking the pregnant barn cats around attempting to locate the place they have been hiding their kittens and whilst i ultimately stumbled on them, they have been all advise and attacked me.

My favortie memory was all of us going to my grandmas house and just sitting around the table, eating her delicious food and just talking about old memories, family stories, etc.. It was always fun to do that. We had a big family and would just talk and talk. I really miss that. My grandma died in 2003 and its just never been the same since. Makes me appreciate family time with my husband and kids and trying to make it to see my parents as often as possible.

I used to love going Christmas shopping with my mom and dad, we had a lot of fun.
We also used to take a vacation to the beach with my grandparents every year. My grandparents have now passed, but I hold on to those memories.

I used to love coming out of the bath on a Sunday night, getting into my PJ's and sitting with my Daddy with a story..snuggling up with a book...I always used to look forward to Sunday evenings....I still like to do it now...having a nice hot bath..and reading a good book.
Sadly my Dad has passed away, and I really miss him, but every Sunday my kids ave a nice bath..and read a book with either me or their Daddy!!

I will never forget the summer holidays with my parents and brother in my mom's town. Wonderful times. Every time we go to the summer place, I see myself playing with my cousins.... I still do it but now we are in our 30's and over!!! But it's great to see our kids play together...
