As humans evolved, many phenomenon on earth could not be explained, e.g. volcanoes, planets, etc., so we created gods. We still cannot explain what happened before the big bang, so it is possible that god created this space and time (and therefore, ultimately, us).

“why did God create us?” is “for His pleasure.” Revelation 4:11 says, “Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.” Colossians 1:16 reiterates the point: “All things were created by Him and for Him.”
Being made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27), human beings have the ability to know God—and therefore love Him, worship Him, serve Him, and fellowship with Him. God did not create human beings because He needed them. As God, He needs nothing. In all eternity past, He felt no loneliness, so He was not looking for a “friend.” He loves us, but this is not the same as needing us. If we had never existed, God would still be God—the Unchanging One (Malachi 3:6).

I think we created god I'm not saying that there isn't a god but no one knows for shore. I mean no one has seen him, we all just believe it. Believing that there is a god makes people feel they have meaning which is good. But just remember all the bad things that have been done in gods name.

God created us to share His incredible love and happiness, God did not have to do this, nor does He need any created thing to increase His own immeasurable happiness.
so the short answer is that God created us because He wanted to,but we will fully understand this when we see God face to face.

both, I believe in a god, but i believe that humans gave god his image. We will never trully know god in this life and all that religion says about god is made by human beings imagination. I think that the closest to the true god is that it is a cosmic force, universal soul, laws of nature, the interconectedness of everything.
