Curry at brick lane (bring your own drink) is nice, cheap and cheerful. China Town also has some good, inexpensive restaurants.

Come on! London is a pretty big place! I know Fulham rather well - There was always a place at the junction of Dawes Road and North End Road. One of those steak house places. Always good food in there. Fave place was the little restaurant on Hammersmith Broadway - but I don't know if that is there anymore (the restaurant, not Hammersmith Broadway, I mean!).

it depends on the area you live in or how far your willing to travel.

Chiquito's is a nice Mexican restaurant they have a bar that sell nice cocktails. they do traditional meals and stuff like chips, burgers, The fajitas are great, oh and nice puddings, fudge cake etc... and its not too expensive. Its is Piccadilly circus which i surrounded by some good bars and clubs if you fancy shaking a leg after.

As a few people have said London is a big place you should be more specific.
However if you go to this website
http://www.london-eating.co.uk/topten.asp
and go down to top ten for value that should give you some ideas. (However check the average prices before you book as some people obviously have high levels for "value")
Terra is definitely worth a go.
Also see their "Best for budget" page
http://www.london-eating.co.uk/occasions/budget.asp
Which gives you a breakdown by area.

Pizza express is a nice restaurant chain, that is often underestimated, because it's compared with other 'pizza' places.
I have been to a couple of their places and I quite like the atmosphere (you don't get crowds of families with screaming kids)
they have several branches throughout London

Try Ha!Ha!. They're usually pretty good, with separate bars so that you can leave the dining and have a chilled drink afterwards.
