Most wedding gifts are monetary these days. It usually depends on the relationship to the couple, where the reception is being held etc. You said your cousin, but you didn't say if you are bringing a guest and if the gift will be from the both of you. So I will assume it is just from you. If the reception is in a reception hall the average price range per guest is anywhere from $50.00 to $100.00. So you have to judge from that and add to that amount. It is expensive to be a guest at a wedding but you can also have a really good time.

It's the thought that counts - give what you can afford and are comfortable with. You don't have to give a great deal, it is entirely your choice.

We are getting married in a few weeks and are grateful for anything that anyone chooses to give us - some have already purchased things from our list, spending anything from £20 to £80 - we don't think any more or less of anyone for the amount they have spend. Equally if our guests turn up empty handed that's great too, we didn't invite people to our wedding for the presents but rather for their presence!

I'm in the same boat but it's my sister and we are really close. She is living in an apartment and already has everything she needs and i know that the wedding is costing her a fortune. I want to put towards her wedding photo's and they are $2000 so how much should i contribute. If it was just a friend i would give about $100...

I would not give money as a Wedding present, nor would I ask for it,.
But as you have asked, it depends on how close you are to your cousin -I lived with mine for three months in the year before her wedding, but haven't seen her much since then, so I gave a gift worth about £40.
If you are closer, you may want to give more than that - or buy her something she needs money for.

If you are in a comfortable situation financially, give her $100-
If you were only going to spend about $50 on a present then make it $50. Usually money gifts at a wedding are given anonomously so don't leave yourself broke over it.

I am making the assumption that both you and you cousin are just starting out in your life.

It is very nice of you to realize that you cousin needs the money, but so do you.

If you do not need the money, I say give her $100, if you do need the money give her between $20-$50.

However much you can afford as I am sure she will appreciate whatever you give. If money is not a problem for you then I would say around £25 would be acceptable, or more if you can afford it.
