No it's simply a fiction story. I've studied art history and in particular Leonardo da VInci for many years and there is no code. Dan Brown wrote a good fiction book with a few elements of truth (the existance of particular works of art etc) but that's as far as it goes.

Certainly not to the extent that Dan Brown would have us believe.

His interpretation of the "Last Supper" is, for instance, absolutely ludicrous.

There may, however, be something in the view that da Vinci held that John the Baptist was the true Messiah, as there are some indications in his paintings that show John to be a more important figure than Jesus (see the attached link to The Virgin of the Rocks at the National Gallery). It must be remembered, however, that legends revolving around the young life of the Baptist were very popular around Florence while da Vinci was working there.

No. I worked in a library and the DaVinci Code is filed in the fiction section. It's not non-fiction. Also, if you look in the very beginning of the book, the Author says the book is fiction.

In the book written by Dan Brown. Good historical fiction.

It does not exist, just as said by the author.
But what is a historical fiction? To me it sounds like an oxymoron.

No, it's all fake. DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF IT, IT IS A FRAUD!!! There is historical merit to few facts, but not at all the magnitude it has been presented by the author.
