Any information about htis book it's author or any other items related to the van Horne family I would appreciate I am trying to find out some background on family geneology. My grandfather was named Howard van Horne born out of wedlock only child to Caroline van Horne therefore prior family history has never been confirmed. This book or any others besides the "Last Spike" Pierre Burton may help

Thank you for asking that question. The Van Horne family seems to be one of those New Amsterdam families to which I can find many connections in my own family tree.

If the book has a Library of Congress number, Amazon.com can do an out-of-print book search. If not, you would have better luck trying to find people with the same family name.

Try lds.org to trace your geneology. Scroll down their home page on the left edge. Click on "Family History". This takes you to the geneology search. The Latter Day Saints, AKA Mormon Church, has been keeping a data base of geneologies for many years. They are adding more and more to their online data base daily.
FYI--It's free.

Go to Google and put it in quotation marks:

"Our Van Horne Kindred"

The quotation marks are vital, I go 35 hits. Without the quotation marks I would have gortten hundreds, if not thousands. The first three quoted it, so the authors of those web sites have seen it; they may still have a copy. The fourth offered it for sale. There is a web site for your family:
