I have a few unpaid parking tickets, and a long history of parking violations (I work in an urban area where I am required to move my car every 2 hours and often forget). If I pay them all before my background check, will it still count as a negative? Will the parking tickets even come up during a background check?

Normally they will not even show up. But I would pay them.

also how much background are they going to do, When I went to work for the Justice Dept they sent investagators to every house I lived in for 10 years, talked to neighbors in those houses, Went to my college and my highschool and talked to teachers there.

So while anything is possible, I doubt it. ( may want to consider parking out a ways and taking a bus in)

Well the only way I see the tickets costing you your job is if you don't pay the tickets your license can be suspended, and or your car can be impounded. If your car is impounded it will stay that way until you pay the tickets and then you have to pay the storage on your car. If your license is suspended then you already know you can't legally drive a car. This being you can't drive to work. Other than the two items I mention above you should NOT have any problems. I say this as parking tickets do NOT come up on criminal record checks. If I were you I'd start moving my car or putting money in the meter as needed, or I'd find somewhere to park my car where there is no meters. Like in a parking garage or on a side street. Good Luck.

You most likley have an active warrant for your arrest for the unpaid citations. That will come up on the check.

Parking tickets are minor offenses, I doubt thast they will be held against you when searching for a job.

I Think So,, Because if u dont pay them,, u can get arrested and if are woprking in temporary position they will fired you, unless u have a permanent job thats different,.... well i dont think that is goin to be in your background unless you run over a person lol

Unless your job involves driving for a living, I don't know why this would count against you regarding the job. I would hope not anyway.

a parking ticket means that you broke a local law. it should show up because you did not take care of them

Why blame the former boss because you were not able to follow the seatbelt law? Maybe it was the inability to follow simple directions that got you fired.
