There is no "official" cure for dandruff. However, you can try to control it. Use a good anti-dandruff shampoo to get rid of dandruff, but remember when you stop treating your hair, the dandruff will return.

Some current retail anti-dandruff shampoos include Neutrogena, Head & Shoulders, Pantene Pro-V Dandruff Formula and Selsun Blue. If you're looking for a long-lasting anti-dandruff shampoo, Nizoral is a good choice. It contains a patented active ingredient known as ketoconazole. This ingredient is medically proven to be effective against P. ovale and acts directly to inhibit growth of the fungus. It is also the number one choice of doctors and pharmacists.

An alternative treatment is to cut a fresh onion in half and rub it on the scalp. It may seem strange but onions have been know to be high in sulfur.

For more severe cases of dandruff, visit a dermatologist. He/she will prescribe a special ointment or lotion.

I know how annoying dandruff can be, I have it as well. All I can say is take care and good luck!

I don't know about other people, but most dandruff shampoos make my dandruff worse. I use shampoos and conditioners with Tea Tree Oil, it heals the skin without drying out your scalp or your hair. It's also good to use a deep cleaning shampoo once a week to remove build up from hair products.

to cure dandruff you have to use a special dandruff shampoo (available at your local store) for 2 weeks or until the dandruff is gone

First we must try and understand the cause....the problem can be due to yeast overgrowth in the body and/or deficiencies of essential fatty acids (EFAs), Vitamins B6 and /or Selenium
Solution:
Wash your hair with chamomile or tea tree shampoos, rinse with 1 cup of cider vinegar and 10 drops of peppermint oil.
Take multi vitamins....A, C, E. and Selenium

flax oil in your diet will be very helpful....hope this helps xx

the best approach is lemon juice and curd(yogurt)...though it smells a little it really works...dandruff can also be caused dirt mixes with oil...so it wud be better to wash them regularly may be more than once a week...which most of us normally do...
