i know this women in a relationship, but we have a strong connection and i would like to ask her out while still maintaining a respectful attitude toward the fact that she's currently attached. what's the best way to go about doing that? any answers saying to simply leave it alone won't be helpful because i'm going to bring it up, and i have no attention of having an affair, but i do want to convince her that i'd be a better fit for her.

Just tell her you have feelings for her, if she feels the same way, she will see that you are "better fit", for her than her current beau, leave things alone,after you tell her, so that they have time to sink in, whatever you do, do not constantly pester her, itll make her run further away...possibly in the direction you would rather not have......

When you find out how, with out creating a fued between her attachee and you, please tell me. however, maybe you should just spend some time with her, doing harmless things and connecting more with her, then she will realize it if you are a better fit.

Well then ask her out...And when the guy she is currently seeing finds out. Prepare yourself accordingly. He'll be pissed and you'll have to deal with it.
