Not all drinks are created equal.. When figuring out how much you drink, do you calculate it by the number of shots in a mixer? For example, if there are 5 shots of liquor in a drink, does that count as five drinks?

Personally a drink is what is in the glass. But legally by law it is based on ounces.
1/2 oz of pure alcohol (100%)=

1 1/4 oz of 80 proof (40%)
3 oz of sherry or Port
4 oz of wine
12 oz of beer

Drinks served in bars and resteraunts can be over as much as twice the average drink.

5 shots would be 5 drinks and would make any driver be impaired to drive. At 240 pounds the blood alcohol level would be so close to the limit... .078

Counterpoint from the BBC, 1967: A sitcom said as "by no potential recommendations the time-honored, experience The Width". way ahead of their time, as ever. it is a subtitle for the debates and speechifying we've considered on each and each and every area of the DMZ in American politics lately. As a corollary, i am going to upload this, put in the mouth of regulation and Order's D.A.mockingly performed by Fred Thompson, a former Congressman and Presidential candidate in genuine existence: "even as those people use the interest "integrity", what they extremely mean is funds."

The current Dietary Guidelines for Americans, published by the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services and Agriculture, define a drink of alcohol as “12 oz. of regular beer, 5 oz. of wine, and 1.5 oz. of 80-proof distilled spirits.”

The word drink is primarily a verb, meaning to ingest liquids. As a noun, it refers to the liquid thus ingested. It is often used in a narrower sense to refer to alcoholic beverages.

So no matter how much alcohol you put in a glass it is only 1 drink.

If you want the consumers to get the 'bang" that is intended, then YES, each "shot" is a drink. Otherwise, it's "dilluted".
