Does the chocolate get left in or on it forever. Do you use it everyday, i just cannot understand how it works. Does the chocolate get old and worse of all does everyone lick the chocolate off whatever it is they eat and then stick it back into the chocolate fountain for more chocolate. Urrgghh

I also wonder this and I ponder whether to purchase one.

I presume you have to clean it whilst the chocolate fountain is still warm and liquid.

It is perfectly fine to leave chocolate in the fountain for whenever you need it, and you might as well if you plan on doing so everyday, which is ok. The most work you'll have to do is reheating.

As for people "double-dipping", there are two scenarios for this: personal or commercial use. In commercial use, there are attendants that watch over for this act, whether during a party, wedding, or any special occasion. Of course for personal use you'll have to keep an eye out, regardless of the questionable ethics of others.

When it comes to cleaning, it's the easiest when the fountain is still warm, and there are several methods to cleaning it within the source link.

You spend a long time washing all the chocolate off and normally throw away a large amount of chocolate.
Pour as much of the chocolate as possible into a container of some sort (which you pretty much have to throw away) then wash the rest out with warm water, then take the fountain apart to clean it, making sure you don't get the electrics wet.

Put like that it doesn't sound like the most healthy option I must agree! Otherwise, when you've finished with it you empty any remaining chocolate into a dish then wash the fountain up - only you don't put the motor section in the washing up machine!

empty out as much of the chocolate as you can then run soapy water through it for a while would be my guess
