I asked michael, I just wasn't sure, if it was him under the burka!

FYI, Mexico is considered to be North America, at least, according to NAFTA!

You immigrate when you leave!

You are an immigrant when you arrive!

You get an "A" for effort, for knowing 3 countries make up North America!

OK, we got a problem here. Do you mean where do people go when they leave North America? Or do you mean where do people who come to North America come from? Because I think those are two very different questions.

As to where people who come here come from, I am not finding any statistics broken down like that. The two countries the US has the most communications with on immigration are, quite obviously, the other two countries with which we share North America. So all the statistics would have to be crunched in ways the almanac does not do.

The much more interesting question is, I think, what you meant to ask: when North Americans leave, where do they go? I think the easy answer is Europe, but I'm not so sure it is so, statistically. Perhaps Australia and New Zealand, taken together, get more.

Europe usually, most often France, or England. At least those from the United States. Most people from Mexico that immigrate don't actually leave North America, only change countries and move to the US. Don't know much about the canadians actually, but I would suspect Europe as well.

You are an immigrant from the country of origin, not from a continent. Mexico, USA and Canada are all different countries in North America but the citizenship for each is different. If you went past the seventh grade, you would know that. So to try to make you understand, Mexicans are still immigrants in America no matter which way you try to spin it. Whether it be legal or illegal, they are still immigrants.

Sorry, your terminology is wrong.

You immigrate into a new country.
You emigrate from your old country.

Americans and Canadians mostly emigrate to live in Europe, but can be found in large numbers in Asia and South Asia, as well.

Mexicans mostly immigrate to the US and Canada for work, and to South America for other reasons, such as marriage.
