My mom found a tiny plastic vial that looks like something used in a lab. It is about one inch long with a cone on the end. On the opposite end is a metal cap that looks like one you would find on an insulin bottle. However the vial itself is only about half a centimeter in diameter. Inside are tiny white smooth spheres about 8-10 of them. I was wondering what this thing is and what its used for? any ideas?

not exactly too sure what it is....but you should probably ingest the tiny white smooth spheres, all 8-10 of them......maybe they'll give you super powers or something cool

It sounds a lot like a vial that would be used for chemical analysis of a sample (of just about anything) in a spectrometer or centrifuge. I've included a link to a picture of what *I'm* thinking of to see if it matches what you have. Definitely NOT something I would open in any case. If she found it near any sort of hospital or lab, I'd take it there; otherwise, I'd simply take it to the police.

I work in a hospital lab and I have never seen anything like it. So I have no idea, but its not from a hospital lab. Sorry I couldn't be any more informative.

It could be anything. I'd err on the side of caution and get rid of the cone.
