I know what you mean. The thought of just nothing, not existing at all is frightening. I imagine it would be like when I get anesthesia before surgery....I don't see, hear, think, dream, there's just nothing. I sort of hope there's some form of afterlife, because I don't want to just snuff out like candle, just poof, no more me.

I know what you mean all my life even as a child I have always feared death, and now death is at my doorstep, I could go at any timeand I am not afraid to go because I know that that is not the end of it all but for all the things that I stuffed up in my life I get another chance from my loving God Jehovah to be able to work on changing my ways, and I wait for the time that is promised in God's Word the Bible when God will wipe out every tear from the faces of humans, and actually swallow up death and sickness and pain and sorrow and mourning.(Revelation21:4)
John 17:3 tells us what we must do to get this chance at the real life that is to be forever, it is to take in accurate knowledge of God how? Through God's Word The Bible!

The wierd feeling comes from realizing that our Soul lives for eternity and depending on the decission we make about believing in Jesus Christ and being Born Again or not determines where our Soul spends eternity. Chose Christ and live in Heaven. Deny Christ and die daily in Hell fire.
Please make the best choice, Christ.
Jesus Christ Loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him and God the Father.

I think that is what makes us human. To fear the unknown...
Everyone wants to know how things feel like but don't want to do it because of the risk. I've wondered about this as well, where you wonder how it feels like, but your dead you can't wonder anymore...
I work in Nigeria, as a oil field specialist, and the things you see here are sometime horrible, and then you start to think, I've seen it all and isn't affraid of dying. But as soon as something happens, like it looks like you going to have a car crash or a guy is pointing a gun at you or what ever, you get that instant fear of dying...weird, but yes again, very much human!!

Yes, I have thought about it, but it doesn't phase me. Yes, I am a Christian, and I know for sure that when I die I will be with my Saviour in Heaven. It is such a peace knowing this.
A saying that I thought about for a while, "It's not that life is too short, it's that death is too long."
Be sure you know where you will be for eternity. Heaven and Hell are real.... don't find out the hard way.

I don't fear death as such because I believe it will be no different to going to sleep. I don't expect to wake up in heaven or hell or anywhere But just before I go I am going to be very sad that I will not be able to see my grandchildren and their children go through life. As for being afraid of death: forget it, because there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Well I suppose it would depend on what you truly believe. Right or Wrong, there's only one way to find out.... but I am hoping with all my heart that I will awake when I die. Awake to a higher existence and consciousness..... spiritual consciousness with God.
It is a terrible thing to have fear because fear is torment. There is no fear in Love. Learn to Love God and then you will have no fear/torment.
Good luck

Learn about Physics - energy is constant.
I died on the operating table before I turned 18 - I saw my body and was surrounded by this great light. The creator was kind and compassionate and asked me why I was out of my body. I was reminded that we ask to come onto this life and I would not have the chance to accomplish what I wanted to do if I did not have courage and keep at it. So I came back.
Get journey of Souls and you will see. It is Michael Newton's book. I was turned on to it from a friend.
We do come back as much as we want to.

I feel that sometimes but I just consider the options of people not JUST DYING and that's it- hopefully reincarnation or some type of bliss (not like the Bible heaven). When I think of what you say, it makes me depressed that I feel like I'm wasting my one and only life (if it is one life)

I agree, it's a crazy thing to think about. But that should give you even more motivation to do everything in this life that you possibly can. If this life is really all we've got, you might as well make the most of it.
