Do you Christians believe that - for example -
Someone who did slightly more bad than good in their life and didn't repent would experience the same pain in the afterlife as Hitler? Or would it not be as bad for them because they weren't as bad a person as Hitler?

The punishments of Hell will vary in degree. The torment of some levels of Hell will be greater than others. People will be put in a level according to their deeds. The Prophet of Islam said:

?There are some whom the Fire will take up to their ankles, others up to their knees, others up to their waists, and yet others up to their necks.?[3]

we are all energy. There is no Hell.
If our actions in life has caused great suffering we do go to a place where we can understand and learn a different way. If the soul is still too distressed it can be reorganized . It is like - de fragmenting a computer - if there are still big gaps in the energy field - the soul will ask to be restructured. Energy is constant.
A book that will explain it better than I can is Journey of souls by Michael Newton. He is a hypnotherapist who has hypnotized more than 10,000 people. It is a great book.

I had a near death experience at age 18 and I was surrounded by the light and met the Creators Presence, It is peaceful.

there is journey in the spirit lands at angel fire web site links up to a few afterlife communications
it describes the diferent hells
from the lowest to the highest level
makes interesting reading
the lowest 2 levels are for the really vile ,you know the ones that lie about god and actually honour evil
vivasectionists and gross murderors
the higher levils are for the ones who say they believe in god but regard it as a fairy tale ,thats where the children go too ,but only so they can choose to go up into the real heavens and or the real hells ,anyway theres lots of stuff on it
not to sure about dantes inferno its pretty heavey going by some of the pictures it has inspired
but saying that if he says thers 9 that about matches how many i reason there to be ,its by degree of evil ,those who enjoy the vile of life get the vile in the after life
if you can believe in goid you should soon get into the lower heavens ,but its your freewill and how much you love to do that you choose to do ,love to do good you go to heaven for sure
love to do bad its some level of hell
for sure.
other levels of hell were greed , misers ,rapists etc all have thier own place dependant on thier chosen joys.if sure seemed funny seeing them get back the evil they got
ooops hope i dont go to hell for that ,poor fools it so seemed no one knew
but santa seems to have recorded every ill we did
perhaps that was satan ,or our own gardian angel well who knows eh
good question.

If what I was told is correct - there are seven levels to hell. But I don't know what they are for except the seventh, saved for traitors and Satan himself or some jazz like that.

Its purely fictional but you will find the levels of hell in Dante's Inferno.

I see your point. Hilter might be roasted over a fire eternally but I might get a bad case of jock itch.
