why can't they just come out and say "hey i don't like you" ? they lead you on but then they avoid you but then they come back and lead you on again and then avoid you again on and on and so on.

Well most guys avoid girls because they've been hurt or messed about in some way. They'd rather not get hurt again thankyou very much!
The guys that lead girls on and then go cold are the majority I'm sad to say, and there is no excuse for them or their behaviour.
Sometimes its all about being hurt before and wanting to play that game themselves. Other times the guys are just miserable sods who aren't worth the water and salt they're made of.
The minority, by that I mean we men-folk who at least try to be gentlemen sometimes get it wrong too. But at least we don't actively mess women around.
I guess its all a matter to meeting the correct person for each of us.

I would say to you, ask him, 'hey do you like me' because I like you. Are you sure he is avoiding you? Maybe you didn't put enough information out there so he doesn't know when, where or how to come back, so he waits too long and the next time you are vague again. BE STRAIT UP! I like you, I want you to call, I want to see you, etc. And let him know your limits on waiting for a decision and stick to it. Don't chase, it turns men off. If it were right, he would not need the limits.

i dont think that you are right. only those guys avoid girls who either have girlfriend or finds the new girlfriend and remaining other guys remain friendly. you might be taking them in wrong manner. ya most of the guys do so but it depends on the company who remain with.

Because it's a natural female reaction.
We want to feel loved then we realise it's not what we want. Then we want to feel wanted.... etc
It's a never ending cycle.
