I can tell you this: being on a cruise ship is quite an experience. It is so much fun just to be on the ship, let alone having so much things you can do for fun on one. In my opinion, the ship is better than the cruise destinations.

I went on my first cruise this summer. I didn't really know what to expect. It seems that people either hate it or love it. The best part is you don't have to cook or clean for a week, all taken of. I went on an Eastern Caribbean Cruise. If it wasn't for a cruise I would never have gone to St Thomas, St Maarten or the Bahamas. It was amazing to be able to experience these places for a day. See how different these people lived from us. Back to the actual Cruise. They is tons to eat, at any hour of the day. There are restaurants, where you are seated. Or there are
buffet style restaurants, help yourself kind of thing. Some cruises have 24 hour pizza. The cruise I was on had a sushi bar, deli and and Oriental food bar. On Select nights they have whats called Late night buffet, with lots of yummy deserts and food and sometimes icesculptures. Food one of the best parts! Then there is entertainment! They have dancers and comedians and singers. Tons of fun! I could go on for hours about cruises, but dont have the time, hope that helped a bit.
just a note though, if you do get motion sickness, maybe think about bringing medication with you.

Cruise ships are for two kinds of people. The newly weds or the nearly dead. J/k. Well if you go with a large group of people than i would say it's fun. This way you can sit w/ all your friends at dinner time. And hang out with them as well. When you go w. just your partner than you gotta sit w. others for dinner. I don't like that to much b/c u always gotta make conversation. There's lots of entertainment on a cruise ship. There are tons and tons of food. People usually eat their heart out to get their money's worth. There are shows similar to Vegas shows. Different one every night. There are casino, little shopping around the ship, And once you landed you get to visit the destination for a day for you. Being on the ship so large you hardly feel that you're on a ship. If you do plan to go I say you plan w/ a large group it's alot funnier.

Cruises are a blast. There is something going on almost 24/7. As others have mentioned, there are ridiculous amounts of food available. There are main shows every night. Usually a few of them are song / dance type stuff and other nights comedy or magic. There are also midnight comedy shows most nights. Also there is alot of partying going on. There are alot of events on the pool deck, usually involving drinking. Just about every ship has a casino. The most fun for me though is that you get to hit multiple destinations without having pack / unpack etc.
