Mayweather just couldn't take shots. He is the best pound-for-pound fighter because he punches well and he AVOIDS GETTING HIT. Baldomir could KO him but he just can't put together his shots. If Baldomir was like Pacquiao on welterweight, Pretty Boy will be KO'd badly.
Matt Hughes is well rounded. He can takedown Floyd anytime. He could easily grab Floyds arms and finish it with a flying armbar or just toe-to-toe then ground and pound.

Matt Hughes is not the greatest mma fighter of all time but he sure could beat Mayweather. He's a lot stronger and a great grappler/wrestler. Mayweather could only box. Matt Hughes wins.

If it was just boxing, Mayweather would Pimp Slap the F out of Matt Hughes.
For one, Matt Hughes got no chin...see how he was getting dotted up by B.J Penn and he's not even a boxer. Matt Hughes was walking around all woozy like he just got out of Bar after getting smacked around by BJ Penn.
*********
Put Mayweather in a caged Ring with Hughes and it's pretty much Good Night Irene for Floyd.
All that Backward cycling wouldn't help him get away from Matt Hughe's Double Leg Takedown. Once Matt is on top, all those defensive skills that Floyd has would be thrown out the window, by a simple tap-tap-tap to tell the ref stop.
**********
It wouldn't be a fair fight for either one.

What kind of a question is this? you're basically comparing apples to oranges.
MMA and boxing are two completely different sports, with the MMA fighter always at an advantage because he's got more tools at his disposal.
If all they did was box, Floyd would humiliate Hughes same way he does to everyone else, regardless of the weight advantage in Hughes' favor.

Sanjoman, I agree with Brad M but there is one thing you're forgetting even though I don't the exact wieght limits for MMA, a welterweight MMA fighter is considerably heavier than a welterweight boxer. No comparison.

hey man, the premise was off... very stupid question. But i'll answer it because i'm in a mood.
In a boxing match, Floyd will badly beat the crap out of Matt. Hell, Matt might even get knocked out!!!
In UFC rules, Mayweather will tap-out as soon he lands on the ground. If Floyd's too proud to tap-out, he might get killed with Matt's ground-and-pound. After all, no one can bob&weave, sidestep, or backpedal with their back on the ground. hehehe...
