Seems like many people here are mad that USSR fighters are dominating the sport......kinda weird considering how dedicated they are to the sport. Unlike the american fighters Rahman (aka straight from the ghetto), Brock (way overrated), and toney (good but when will this guy retire?). Russian fighters bring dedication to the sport, something that has been lacking in america.

Wlad is the real deal. He won the gold in the olympics, where there is no bullshit promoting. You cant say that about Rahman, Toney, or Brock.

Look I know there are a lot of hard feelings that Amercans are not dominating the HW division. But you do have to give teh current champs credit.

Personally, I don't think Wlad could have competed in the golden eras of heavyweight boxing. That's not his fault though. He is the best out there now and I would love to see him knockout (or at least knock down) Valuev. That might take out a lot people in attendance! He does have a questionable chin, but I think he is tough. He has the best trainer in the business and could unify the belts if given the opportunity. Unfortunately, thanks to Don King, I don't think it will happen.

People doubt Wlad because the heavyweight division is the sorriest state it has been in since the early 1930's (post Tunney/Dempsey to pre Joe Louis). Dedication? Where's the dedication when none of these bums, with the exception of Briggs, who after drilling Liahkovich, commented that he wanted to unify the titles. I haven't heard the other guys talking like that. Yeah you can use the excuse that the promoters won't let them do it. Bullsh*t. If a fighter wants it bad enough he'll speak up and those unification fights will happen.
Wlad won gold in the Olympics. The boxing in the Olympics is more crooked than at the professional level. Rahman and Toney were dirt poor they couldn't wait around for their shot at the Olympics. They had to make money the best way they knew how; to box professionally. There is only one "real deal" when it pertains to boxing, and we all know what American boxing great earned that nickname. Time for a dream match to prove a point.

One other point, the division sucks so bad that a former undisputed middleweight champion of the world thinks he can drill Oleg Maskaev, and is calling him out. Think about it.

To say Europeans are dominating the sport as a whole is a bit of an exaggeration. Many of the lighter divisions are full of talent from South of the Equator.

Your inference about Rahman "aka straight from the ghetto" was confusing, is that an insult? Do you know how many great champions have risen out of poverty and slums/"ghetto" settings? Too many to list believe me. After last night I agree Brock was overrated, he looked pathetic. On the other hand, Wladimir showed that he still gets flustered easily. The look on his face when he went back to the corner after he was cut, he looked scared. He still in my opinion is the best the division has to offer but that and a buck will buy you a cup of coffee at Circle K

Finally, I agree completely with Brad's comment regarding Olympic Boxing and how its scored. Look no further than Roy Jones Jr or PBF both of which were robbed of a Gold Medal. Roy's was an obscene fiasco. .

Olympic Boxing is more corrupt in its bias against American fighters, than the overall corruption in the pros.
Klitschko is a bum with a glass jaw, just waiting to be taken out, ask Corrie Sanders, Lamont Brewster and Ross Puritty.

*additional*

It's not a case of 'hard feelings', it's a case of reality. American fans don't give a shitt where a fighter is from, as long as he's
good. Lennox Lewis was embraced in this country.
The division right now sucks. Period.

Yeah i agree that Klitscho is good and unfairly critisized at times as is Valuev the WBA champion. I think the main problem with these fighters is firstly they are unfashionable and secondly neither have a perticularly exciting style and because of this people arent exactly clambering to watch them fight. But it doesent mean that they are not good fighters, they didn't buy their titles they won them in the ring and are the best in the world at this current time. Bad fighters basically don't win world titles it doesent matter what alpabet organisation you look at they are all good maybe not the best ever, maybe quite a way off the best, but still good and deserve respect for being the best at the current time.

Funny how you forgot to mention that Eastern European Athletes go to "Athletic Schools" from very early ages. Wladimir talks about it frequently in his interviews. The schools are completely run by the Governments and the athletes pay no out of pocket expense. Sounds like an advantage US athletes are not privileged to. NOW, get off the computer, your mother said its past your bedtime, oh and don't forget to put the plastic sheets on the mattress, you and your "accidents".
