I mean what should I give my young one under the pillow for a lost tooth

Wow, am I ever out of touch! Five bucks. I'll have to a survey in my office for a week or so to get the current information.

Including inflation and higher wants and needs, I would say $5.00 would be a good price. Remember the pain and suffering one goes through while losing a tooth. Of course it all depends on how much allowance the kid gets and how much you want to spoil him/her.

The whole point to the tooth fairy is to encourage them to pull their teeth out in the future. Sometimes kids don't want to pull them out, because it seems to hurt so bad. I rememeber how hard it was for my parents to get me to pull my first tooth out. I cried like a baby until my parents told me that the tooth fairy was offering money for them. They told me my first tooth was worth $10.00 and my next teeth were worth $5.00. That was a little much for that time, but now I suppose that would be a good payment.
