Hi I'm a legal citizen that just turned 18. I live in California and would like to know if I need a passport to visit Tijuana by car for a day.
I've heard that you don't need one until the beginning of 2007.
True or not?
What are the requirements?

True, but take a copy of your birthcertificate or social security card to prove citizen ship.

That's technically right but you should know that it's the U.S. that is being fussy about letting Americans back into the country so take along some form of picture ID along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, for instance.

Have a nice trip.
