I found the best present for my boyfriends parents last christmas was a hamper. Its creative and not too expensive depending on what sort of foods you put in and a few scented candles is a good idea in the hamper also, feta cheese, water biscuits, wine, chocolates and some things like that are a good idea. And it goes down well with both parents. Maybe a boquet of flowers for his mother also. Put them in a nice basket with a few ribbons and bows and they will love you and They will love your creativity. Good luck

One thing that may work is a bit of chocolate, and a gift box of cheeses. If you borrow from Miami's idea, a hamper can be custom stocked, and thus more put in for the money spent. A bit of sippin'chocolate may also be an appreciated addition.
The reason for both types of food presents is one may not like chocolate or not be able to eat them for some health reason.
In addition, you might buy them some other lasting thing, something that won't be eaten and then forgotten. Perhaps an inexpensive centrepiece for a table, or some other object.
I would probably budget for a thank-you card to mail, and include a note talking about the good time you had, say a day or two later.
If cautious, I think all can be done within your budget.
Have a wonderful, happy Christmas!

Get them a nice bottle of champagne, or a really good wine, and some luxury goodies to eat. Maybe Mum would like some flowers.

A nice photoframe......a potted plant.....A tin of very special biscuits......A Christmas food basket from Marks & Spencers or somewhere like that. A bottle of brandy .....Cigars for the father....perfume for the mother.....a nice brooch for the mother and a brandy flask for the father.... A meal out for the two of them? haha I have no money sorry....

but a gift box of some sorts may work.... maybe a box of assorted chocolates for the parents, or a gift basket with various snackable items like crackers and cheese? Those tend to be reasonably priced and if you get it early it may be cheaper.

good luck!

-make them a scrap book of all the pictures of your bf
-buy them a photo album set
-look around their house and imagine what could be a nice addition
-no gift cards! they're so not personal
-vases
-a picture frame with a picture of a family collage in it already
-decorative mugs
-bring in a few food dishes to offer for everyone
-bake cookies and offer as a gift

goodluck!

If it's a joint present it should be his responsibility to pick it out. Take him shopping and make him say what he thinks would be appropriate for them. If they don't like it he should be the one to take the heat, not you.

don't get ornaments because they've probably already got hundreds - and will feel obliged to put it somewhere when you come next even if they don't like it. Something useful - not kitchen utensils, but something that might come in handy, even if it's a bit quirky, like a garden clock-thermometer

A nice bottle of wine.
A gift basket from one of those cheese places.
Christmas flowers.
Make it something simple and not too expensive
