Honestly, I think it means that they don't want to be reminded of the relationship or you. I've had this reaction to me and I've also reacted this way to people. When I break up with guys, I usually tell them that if they happen to see me, "pretend that you don't know me and think of me as dead!"

It doesnt necessarily mean they still care, but they feel uncomfortable.........what to say, how to act etc. It's been 4 years since my split with my x and i still don't feel comfortable around him, but it's not because I have any feelings thats for sure. Just try to act as casual as u can if u do run into him, it will make him feel more at ease. Just a simple hey how are u and continue on your way.

Usually whenever I run into an ex we end up going back to (my/their) place to have wild, passionate sex.
Then we separate again and pretend like it never happened.
Until the next time we "accidentally" run into each other again.
