Everyone seems to have cream or chocolate coloured suites at the moment. I want to paint my room, but wonder whether anyone has used a different colour,or done something different with paint that they think looks really stunning. Or any ideas about how you have decorated your lounge please.

You should look online for picture ideas or visit home improvement sites for tips. Some sites even give you a virtual reality design program to give you an inkling of what a room can look like from flooring to ceiling and wall colors.

If you want to try something different, try going with warmer sunset colors, reds, yellows and oranges or a dark blue. Think about your furniture, floors and ceilings and what colors can improve them. Best luck.

I guess christmas, thanksgiving, columbus day, st. patrick's day, and easter have nothing to do with white people. The 'special' scholarships based on race are probably because statistically, throughout american history, minorities have a tougher time obtaining the american dream. And there are scholarships for everything you can imagine, so I am sure a 'white' person can find help if need be. Noone thinks you are racist to be proud of your heritage, intelligent people realize you are racist when you rant against other people because you have failed to live up to your potential. I am native american, my children are black and my husband is white. I will never allow any of them to use race as an excuse to not achieve or to blame others for their problems. You might want to be accountable for your own failures, it is the first step to becoming a better human.

My walls are a color called "clove" and my ceilings and trim are a cream color. I dared the painters to bring white into my house. I love it, it's like a warm tan that seems to go with just about anything! I have laminate floors that look like pinkish tan slate (hubby picked it out, so you know it's not that pink..it's not girly at all). I don't go with all that crap in the decorating mags nowadays. I'm thinking of finding a darker wash of the clove color and doing a drybrush crisscross thing...supposed to make the walls look like suede! Now to just find the time to do it!!

I have 2 shades of gray, one wall is dark slate and the others a dove gray...my furniture is not leather, it's linen, an under stated gold with a green fleck in it. The pictures on the walls are Ansel Adams...all nature shots

Well I have white walls and cream leather furniture but my wooden floor is covered with a carpet. My son has Morrocan .mauve (?) on one of his walls...on the bar actually...and it looks stunning. He has a wooden floor and a white leather settee with Morrocan coloured cushions.

Well, if you are the gregarious type, perhaps it's best to emulate your contemporaries, so when they frequent your establishment it's as if they never left their own estates. On the other hand, if you are the shrinking violet of a closet individual, dying to make a bold statement but has been suppressed by the loud, brash, pretentious, and tawdry machinations of pouting prima donnas, then now is the time and opportunity to set yourself free. Go Pink!

I think it's so ostentatious it makes you stressed out!! I have enjoyed making the walls murals, gardens with fences and lots of plants, palms in the room, use red and white checked curtains and use lots of baskets and hat boxes on shelves, like use a old ladder for shelves and put a potted plant on one rung, have a big braided rug with a old pine table and all mix matched chairs, a red runner on the table. Make it lively and embracing.

Wow, you have just described my living room perfectly. I didn't realise it was that popular.

Sorry, I was just plain and boring. I have cream and chocolate walls, cream curtain and carpet and chocolate leather suite.

Time for a change I think!!
