And when you do, do you freak out about it? The guy I am dating has told me he loves me, wants to marry me, but seems to be a little freaked out by it. He goes through periods "in his cave" (not talking to me). I am just worried that maybe he is uncertain about his feelings for me

He is uncertain. If he truly loved you, he would shout it to the world. Nothing against you. You deserve someone who will not act childish and be proud that he loves you. I believe in the "He's just not into you" theory.

There is no right or wrong answer for this, you simply know. Sometimes it is the knowing itself that scares you. Sometimes it is the shock that you actually found him/her. Have you professed your love to him? Have you come to the same or similar conclusion, that he is for you? Men try to stop and think when realizations come to the forefront, the bad part is human nature makes you sometimes second guess yourself and creates problems. People have a hard time trying to follow their heart for fear of being hurt. Love or no love there is always pain.
