it's loaded with sugar, and sat. fat

well, i shouldn't say loaded.

it's got some protein. I don't think a little milk is that much of a problem for a protein diet. Just don't go overboard.

You can-you just have to count the 11 grams of carbs/half pint. That's a lot of carbs for Atkins-over half the daily limit for alot of people.
Contrary to what most people think, the Atkins diet doesn't state that you "can't have" any foods except during the initial 2 week induction. There are just a lot of foods that don't fit well within the guidelines of the diet.
When I did Atkins the first thing everyone said was "don't you get sick of bacon and eggs?" Well, that's not what the book (written by Dr. Atkins) that I went by said to eat. It said to eat lean protein and fresh vegetables,so that's what I ate. That's still what I mostly eat, with the addition of whole grains and fruit-and have lowered my blood pressure and cholesterol to normal.

the basis for the Atkins diet is that when u only have one type of food in ur stomach at one time, its easier to digest becuase ur stomach only has to produce one type of stomach acid. milk is very hard to digest alone, never mind with other foods such as meat.
