Yes Isreal is Blessed and the prophets anointed by the Lord are Holy and Beautiful.
But it takes practicing Christianity to "convert" not talking about it or trying to convince those who dont want to hear and have hate for Christians in their heart.
I know the power of the prophets! These things written thousands of years before they occured! But that is for the believer!
My brother, we must realize non believers think with the head.
To understand Christianity, you must get out of your head, and into your spirit.
If you want to win people to Jesus, do something that makes sense to their head, that they can see with their EYES. Like love, help the poor, comfort the sick, etc.
God bless you, brother, I am not underestimating the word, but non Christians want to see ACTION I have found.
Just my 2 cents!
Thanks!

Nope, sorry, didn't work.
Most of these are just completely obvious. "The Temple would be destroyed," for example- how many temples from the BC ages haven't been destroyed? As for the promise of another prophet, seeing a man as a prophet requires you to believe in prophecy-- if you don't believe in it to begin with, it can't possibly be a valid argument. And the people of Israel being persecuted wasn't exactly a great feat of clairvoyance-- the Israelites had always been persecuted before the time of the prophecy, so of course they'd continue to be persecuted.
What about the Biblical prophecies which never came true?

Well, for starters, all your quotes from what you call the "old testament" are not in reference to Jesus so I fail to understand what you try to connect it to him.
Also, although it is true that many Jews have returned to Israel, the overwhelming majority of Jews live outside israel, 2/3s actually.
And as to your quote from Deuterronomy 18, I highly suggest you read it in context. That way you'll see that it has nothing to do with a specific prophet but rather with prophets in general.
I was also under the impression that Christians believe that Jesus is the son of G-d thus from that point of view, he wouldn't be a prophet.

Sorry, still not a believer, but thanks for the chuckle.
Here's a prophesy for you, and I don't expect you to believe me, nor do I expect that you will ever be able to thank me for telling you.
When you die, nothing happens.... You will simply be dead. That will be the end for you. Nothing follows. You won't find yourself in some fairy tale magic land where your invisible friend spends all day making sunshine and roses. You will cease. Period.
I know that sounds harsh. But there is good news! You would call it a Gospel... You'll be dead, so you'll never know what a complete and utter waste of time all this God nonsense is.

Sorry... You were mistaken. I'm not converted.
You seem to have ignored the bulk of what's in the bible - the great pile of misinformation and dung - and focused only on that which appears to have satisfied a few statements. In any case, I believe these prophecies were intended to be fulfilled long before the 20th century.
Try reading a bit more carefully.

How about this - all of those "prophesies" were written many many many years after the fact. Guess what? I prophesied the Democrats would take over both houses! And lo, it has happened. But did I really prophesy it, or am I telling you that I am? How would you know? You weren't here when I supposedly prophesied it - you have to take my word for it. That's what the bible asks you to do - take someones word that it all really happened. No thanks. Didn't work on me, sorry, nice try.

Sorry... but.. I'm still a non-believer.
Maybe.. just maybe.. the powers that be (mainly the US) who pretty much forced the formation of Israel were just trying fulfill "prophecy".
When you have a country like the US supplying you with superior weapons and training, against backwards people (at the time, mind you).. again, how do you lose?
Enough with you..Like you said.. YOUR god... please bring me another god that's suitable for my believing.. yours is much too barbaric.

Unfortunately, the people who created Israel had read the same book, so it's not exactly a coincidence that they did it.

Yeah. And Nostradamus predicted a lot of things that have come true too. Are you going to follow him? Miss Cleo probably even got a few things right, but are you going to convert to whatever it is she is? You need more. What is it going to be??

The Bible has the signature of God attached to it in many ways. One of those ways is Bible prophecy. The old testament has 333 prophecies about the first coming of Jesus Christ and 456 specific details about his life(all written between 400 and 200 years before he was born). The 4 gospels in the new testament(Mathew, Mark, Luke & John) tell the story of jesus. Had those 4 gospel writers chosen to not write their gospels, we could still have re-created the whole life of Christ just from the old testament(all written before he was born). In fact, that is how the christians preached the gospel in the first 20-30 years after the death of Christ. They preached it from the old testament because the new testament had not yet been written. Man sees history like a person sees the Rose Parade sitting in the stands. The floats that have already gone by him are like the past. The floats in front of him are like the present. The floats still coming are like the future. These prophets in the old testament who wrote about Jesus Christ seemed to be able to see history the way you would see the Rose Parade from a helicopter. They seemed to be able to see the end from the beginning. That tells me that though they were writing these things down the info was not ultimately coming from them but from a higher source because man simply doesn't see history that way. Also, the bible has amazing knowledge about many scientific principals long before these principals were discovered. Seventeen times in the old testament the bible says that God is "stretching the heavens". For thousands of years bible scholar struggles with what that could possibly mean. Then in 1929 Edwin Hubble discovered that the universe was expanding. The bible told us that long ago.
No other religion or Holy Book has this king of knowledge. All this tells me that these prophets in both the old and new testament were not nutcases but true prophets of God
