Are the human spirit and soul the same?

We have a body, soul and spirit. The soul is our emotions, personalities, our desires, etc..... spirit is the one part of us that is reunited with God when we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior. The spirit then becomes one with God's and He speaks to us through our spirit and gives us discernemnt, comfort and guidance and wisom and knowldge etc.....

soul here means "person's self" because it is different than soul because soul from god.
