braces and tongue ring?

yea im gonna get braces in about two to three weeks and i have my tongue peirced and i was woundering if it could cause a problem even though they will be on the outside? they aren't going to pull any teeth or anything major like that. and every says tongue rings chip teeth and etc.... but i've haven't had no problem with that. so what is your opinion? does anyone have braces with the tongue piercing? thanks for the help -jen

You should talk with your orthodontist to see what his/her suggestion is for the tongue ring. If you've already had the tongue ring, I don't see how braces would affect the tongue ring. But, your orthodontist would be the perfect person to ask.
