There's alot of good info here. U didn't mention if there was any swelling? I know when I put heat on my back it gets worse. I have to use ice packs to get some relief, posture does make a difference but if U have tried many things and are still in pain find a good Orthopedic Doctor and see if he can help U.There are meds out there ,physical therapy and so on . A good chiropractor could help if an alignment is all that is needed. That's the good thing about most Chiropractors - They are more cost effective and if they can help U they will but if they can't they will refer U to a medical Doctor,Not always the other way around.

Hope U find relief!

Hot water bottle, lying with cushion under your back it also depends where your back ache is and how it was caused. I'm pregnant and a comfy cushion and a hot water bottle works wonders as does a bath with 'radox muscle relax' (I don't use that when pregnant) in it, rest is normally the best if you still have problems go to your Dr's. Imovalat is good, it's a muscle rub that rugby/sports players use and it eases the pain. Good luck

This would depend on whether this is a sudden or a chronic backache. Also upon your physical condition and your posture, and your bones.

I could suggest for a recent injury; alternating hot and cold, until pain is no longer present.

Then I would urge moderate exercise. Are your ab's flabby? These support your back. Your legs strong? Also can impact your back. Old injuries, bad shoes, any number of things can cause back pain.

Probably #1 is poor physical condition.

Ice and/or heat. I do yoga as well and it helps prevent a sore back. If it is a lower back ache all you may need is to do gentle hamstring stretches. Also, aleve is a very good otc pain/inflamation reliever.

I was like you when I was 12( now I'm 16).. I went to see a specialist, he helped a lot. He told me to do some stretching exercise every night before I go to sleep. Do it slowly. And try to walk and sit up straight. Good luck!

Learn some back strenghtening exercises and try to use your legs instead of relying only on your back. I suffer back problems and the quickest temporary relief for me is one of those microwave heat bags. It seems to get right into the bones and works like magic

Rest, and alternate between heat and cold. The cold will help reduce any swelling and the heat will be comforting. Does this happen to you often? If so you may have TMJ. This can happen if your teeth are not in alignment and you may need braces to line your teeth up.
