Perhaps they are simply praying? Perhaps on this day in particular they are remembering some of those who now lie in Flanders fields. Or perhaps they are merely listening to hear the living voices of those who are suffering in poverty or infirmity? I am not a Christian but it seems obvious even to an ignorant unbeliever as I, that there is much silent service and humility in any life of faith. Perhaps they simply live the word of God bearing witness through acts of humility and generosity or caring for the sick, instead of being only a sounding brass or clashing cymbals... Perhaps they simply try being silent once in a while, to reflect on faith and grace and other mysteries in awe. It would seem to me that even a mute may be more clearly understood to represent their faith through acts of charity and mercy than any thunderous preacher full of hypocrisy and vainglory. Surely they can do no worse than to drive away as many as you do with your calumny.

Probably because the ones who aren't silent are busy preaching hate and venom, and they just don't want to be associated with that sort. I can respect that.
Perhaps because they don't believe that every single outlet for the printed or spoken word is necessarily a soapbox that must be mounted.
Perhaps because they realize that "for everything there is a season".
I can respect Christians who speak up, as long as they do so with dignity and respect. I hear though, too many who take it too far and bring disrepute to their faith. These, as the saying goes, are a vexation to the spirit.

Silence IS helping your cause. It's better to remain silent and let people think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and prove them right.

I have brought souls to Christ and publically stated Love for Him...
I praise Him for that time in my life....He has me in another season right now.....a season of learning to respect others, loving others.
I know its ok with Him, and I dont care what man thinks.
I feel this new leaf will help bring people to the Lord by witnessing through action and not words. I will give Him the glory if asked.
Thanks for your question!
CHRISTIANS: lets respect all beliefs!!!

ther is such a thing as being a zealot and losing the meaning of Christ, let the people decide when they wish to come to Him even the disciples had to make their own choice to follow. You cant push religion it has to be excepted when all other means fail with most people

I tell the truth concerning the Word. People can choose to believe His word or not. One thing is certain, they can never say they haven't heard the truth. There will be no excuse.

Sometimes God's ways are not our ways...only He can look into someone's heart...all we see is the outward appearance..I think that's why He said, Judge not, unless you want to be judged in the same way... I know what you're saying, and yes believers should share their beliefs but I believe to be lead by God and not in our own strength and say something that will turn people away...does that make sense?

Silence is preferable to advancing anti-Catholic stereotypes and bigotry.
"Spreading the word" is a noble goal, but your version of it is something that we could do without, no offense.
