I think they are equal to humans. Better in some respects, but they have personalities also. Some good and some bad. Animals are a very large category and includes Humans. We are all animals, competing for living space, when all at last is said.

I am in a constant state of amazement and awe by how little a pet requires of us and how much it returns: Unconditional love, loyalty and trust.

So many times I've seen a homeless person with a faithful and loving dog at his/her side. That dog has a far from pampered life: no roof over it's head, dealing with inclimate weather, eating only when food is available and eating only whatever is available ... yet he/she stands by it's owners side through thick and thin.

Now compare that example to the number of marriages that end in divorce when times get hard.

You betcha!!! No matter what, my critters (3 cats and a dog) love me. They love me when I'm sad, mad, happy, sick, smelly, have bad breath, wear a god-awful outfit, don't put on my makeup, etc., etc. They are unforgiving and ask for nothing in return except a nice place to sleep, fresh water, food and a chin rub and an ear scratch. The accept my weird friends and family and think everything I do is wonderful. They are great.

I like cats, some cats. I like humans, some humans. I like some cats just like I do some humans, if they are good. I can like cats and humans equally, if they are cute.

I've never met a cat or a dog I didn't like. I can't say the same about humans.
And my goodwill has always been reciprocated. I can't say the same about humans.

I love all animals more than humans and that will always be the way, humans are violent creatures that start wars, tear down animals homes, murder each other in cold blood, rape each other, molest each other, beat each other and that is just the start, just thinking about mankind today makes me angry, i would rather live surrounded by animals.

I love dogs more than most humans I meet. They can be trained, they don't ask for money, and are happy to just cuddle.

It's sad to say, but I think more of most animals than humans. Animals can't think for themselves, unlike humans. The things that happen to them they can't help. Animals need someone to take care of themselves, People don't. I think overall animals are smarter than most people, but sometimes things happen to them that they can't help.
