sometimes I pass people on the street and they look so sad especially the homeless I got to talking this evening with a lady who always ask for money around town she calls me her angel as for some reason 2-3 times a month I seem to run in to her . I stop and talk with her when I can and give her a couple dollars this has been going on about a year and this time I talked with her about trying to turn her life around and get off the streets living from place to place she has been through alot and can't find her light at the end of the tunnel. We never know what anyone is going through or has been through and with the holidays coming it is especially hard for many. reach out to someone if you can even to just go out of your way to say hi volunteer to feed the homeless or buy a toy for a child in need it will make you feel better as well as the person be aware of con artist though they are also out during the holidays God Bless hopefully someone doesn't violate me for this

Let brotherly love continue.
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares".

ABSOLUTELY! AND I JUST LOVE WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT - BY HELPING AND MAKING OTHERS HAPPY, SO DO YOU, THE ANGELS. WELL, I KNOW THAT'S NOT EXACTLY THE WAY YOU SAID IT, BUT IT'S BEAUTIFUL. THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT. AND YES, I BELIEVE THAT WE ARE ALL HERE TO HELP EACH OTHER. YOUNG, OLD, RICH, POOR, WELL EDUCATED AND NOT WELL EDUCATED. WE ALL HAVE SPECIAL GOD GIVEN GIFTS TO SHARE. THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW OR DON'T THINK THEY HAVE A GIFT, BUT THEY DO. A LOT OF TIMES YOU MAY HAVE USED YOUR GIFT AND IMPACTED SOMEONES LIFE AND NOT EVEN KNOW IT. BUT GOD KNOWS. I don't give money to panhandlers anymore. You might as well hand them a six-pack or a carton of cigarettes because most often that is where your money is going to. We have food, shelter, and clothing for all the homeless in my city and they know where they can go to get the help they need.

Working at the shelter or food kitchen is a great idea. I will do that. Or maybe just donate money straight to them as then at least It will be used wisely.

It got pretty cold out tonight and I was just thinking how thankful I am for having a house under my head and food in my belly. I sometimes forget the blessings that I do have in my life; the things I too often take for granted. Thanks for pointing out my own selfishness and what is really important in life. Helping others above yourself! Amen.

Next time you see her why don't you suggest that she go to the Salvation Army so that she can get God and hope in her life?

Ephesians 2:12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Of course, spreading a little compassion hurt no one, regardless of whether a stranger is friend or foe. Besides, compassion does just as much if not more for those who practice it!

Well, we also need to be careful about strangers and about our security. Can't entertain strangers so easily.

A stranger might be a monster in the guise of a brother, who knows?!

Well, in that case that would be a noble deed. Thanks for the clarification. :)

I'm usually nicer to strangers than the people I know. That may carry bad connotations.

No. Not without a gallon of coffee, and even then I can't guarantee anything.

John C, you have a house under your head? How big is your ego anyway?

As for your question,

When you wake up tommorrow is it possible for you to say something nice to a stranger"

depends on what she looks like....

not after I go on here, by that time I just want to walk up to someone and knock their teeth out. And by someone I mean my boss. And by knock his teeth out, I mean a kick in the groin and then knock his teeth out.
