Ok...consider these concepts.

Thought is energy. ( For the sake of faith - let's consider that energy to be spiritual in nature)
Energy can neither be created nor destroyed.
Many people come up with the same ideas at the same time.
People have intuition.
People have dreams.
People have a conscience. Good and Bad.
Therefore thought can be negative or positive. Negative thoughts when fed from the conscious mind into the subconscious feed through the physical form. We supressed the flow of negative energy has negative effects on the human body. We expressed you get negative action and negative results.
The reverse is true for positive thought.
Therefore, if God speaks to us through our subconscious mind, which I believe, then that positive input is transferred into positive action leading towards positive results.

As a Christian, the Bible gives me direction.

Steve,

God speaks to my subconscious in my dreams sometimes. They are quite different than my ordinary dreams, and they often come true later in real life. Sometimes it will be a person's name, first, middle, last, and an image. It will be someone I've never heard of, but if I look the name up on the internet I'll find them and something about their history, dead or alive. Usually there is strong correlation between the dream image and the facts, sometimes the dream image is about the future. It is really rare though.

Other ways he talks to me is by directing where life takes me and who I meet. He just puts me where people need me, and I try to help where I can do the most good. I'm always afraid that I might do the wrong thing while I think I'm trying to help, but I just try and do what God "tells" me to do.

Sometimes there is just an idea that pops into my head that tells me it came from God and it is usually sheer genius, much smarter than I could ever think of myself.

Once, He nearly did. It was a scary moment.
If God is speaking to me, I'm not understanding Him.
He's probably talking all the time.
I think He's given over to sign language.
Things like: I'll be on a nature walk, and sit down for a rest, and I'll see two ant hills, and for some reason, the two ant hills stick in my mind, and I can't stop thinking about how they are so tiny, yet capable of so much direction and organization. And self-sacrifice. It is a scene that I think of now and again over the years. One that a Buddhist would say: "You achieved enlightenment!"

I know God speaks to all mankind through His word, the Bible. It is extremely hard to know any other way. It may be God or it may be, the pizza I had for lunch, or maybe it's something I heard before that's coming into my memory again. The only sure way to know is in the Bible.

The only Human who ever had the opportunity to speak with God directly was Moses.

We can only take of the guidance we receive through angels who follow the will of God.

And God knows best.

I think God speaks to me through the people in my life. For instance, God wants me to realize how important my family is (both my biological family and my spiritual one (the church)) by having it drilled into me by my dad that family is the most important thing you can have (this was drilled into him by his dad on the latter's deathbed).

In many ways.
Through the Bible is one...
My husband passed away from a brain tumor when I was 20 yrs old. He left me with a 15mo. old daughter to raise. When she was about 4 or 5, I asked God what was gonna happen to Lisa and I, what was His plan for us. I then closed my eyes, opened my Bible and He showed me Isaiah 54:4-10.
Please read it yourself and you will see what I mean.
God Bless you! :-)

God is a spirit and He talks to our spirits. The Bible says in John 4:24, "God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
