Alright.. Does anyone know if there is a way I can contact my fiance in a semi-emergency where he's staying at on base in Virginia (I know which base it is, just didn't feel it was necessary to list the name of it) WITHOUT calling the Red Cross? His phone and internet have been down.. so we (me and his family) are not even sure if he got back to base in one piece (but I sure hope he did **worries**) It's not that big of an emergency.. so I think calling the Red Cross to get him an emergency message would be a little extreme for the situation. Just wondering if anyone else knew of any other ways.. I really don't want to waste the Red Cross's time and efforts over something not excrutiatingly critical. I'm about ready to call the barracks manager to see if they can help me... in the morning obviously, but I don't think anyone will be there until tuesday with it being Veteran's Day weekend and everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Go to the instalations web page. Look for the unit's phone number or if you can't find it there call the Post Operator. You will need to get the number to the unit's orderly room, commander or CQ desk.

If all else fails call the MP Desk - the Desk Sergeant can help you find the number.

If this lasts a couple days you already know you can call the RC.

the QD is always manned. at worst, you can leave a msg with the Petty Officer of the Watch and ask that it be passed on. At best, they may track him down and call him to the QD to speak to you.
