my last question was about how my windows movie maker has been having problems. one of the answerers suggested deleted it and then downloading it again. the problem is that it is not on the add/delete program list! (start-control panel-add or remove programs) i cant just right click and delete because it only gets rid of the icon, not the program. does anyone know how i can erase the program from my computer?!

It's not going to be in the add/remove program list, because it's pre-installed when you install Windows. I did however check the add/remove windows components list, and it wasn't in there either.

The only place I could find it was C:\Program Files\Movie Maker

So if you go to My Computer, double click the C: drive icon, double click, Program Files, and right click on the folder Movie Maker, then choose Delete. That will remove it, but I don't know if it would affect Windows. Windows doesn't like having programs or files that make it work or function a certain way deleted, cause errors pop up later down the road. I personally don't see that happening, but it is at your risk.

Windows Movie Maker is part of Windows XP - when you go to Add/Remove Programs, on the left side of the window is a button that is labled Windows Components, or something similar (I'm now using Vista, so I can't check that). Once the window loads the options, you should be able to find the category that Movie Maker is under - uncheck it, and apply the change, and it should remove. After that is finished, reboot your computer, go back in the same way, and check the box again, then apply - this should reinstall it.
