Seriously, for the past few months I've thought about this. Day after day, and I've come to the conclusion that people really shouldn't feel sorry for themselves if they aren't in a relationship. Most of us are better off alone, think about it, if you check out my sources below you'll find that the average from 90-02 rate on divorces (ages were not given) is about 36.4%. Its considered BAD to ask for a pre-nup, its considered DISTRUST if you ask your partner for STDs. Its considered bad if you don't fully trust your partner, and why is this? Because people always want that chance, however small it is to screw you over. What is a relationship anyway, a bunch of arguing and fighting that turns in to marriage to solve the problems? I say it is they who should not feel sorry for us, but WE should feel sorry for them! Those who are in relationships are the ones who suffer!

So I ask my question once again, Why do people feel so sorry for themselves if they aren't in a relationship?

Don't trust anyone, if you do and you get screwed over, its your own fault.

They never learned the true joys of singlehood. If they had, they wouldn't be getting bogged down in all this relationship crap.

Well, whatever the statistics may be, not all people are like that. I agree with the part that single people should not feel sorry for themselves, personally, I think its quite pathetic. But, not everyone falls into these statistics. There are people out there in happy relationships and marriages, as few as they may be, they are still out there. I believe that people can find happiness in relationships and that people who aren't in relationships need not to feel sorry for themselves but enjoy life being single.

It's nice to know, or think, that someone somewhere cares for you and to care for them in return.

Trust is only possible if you have some sort of assurance. It is the hardest thing to gain and the easiest to loose. You seem a bit bitter on the topic but I don't judge. Your examples are simply the result of today's very emancipated world. It is simply what we are now.

No one deserves to be alone. That's all that I am saying.

We make the assumption that our personal worth is based upon how people value you. Insecure people feel being single, unemployed or left off the football team more personally.

There is also the fear of growing old and dying alone.
