I have a red nose pitt bull. He just made ten months old. My boyfriend's friend said that we should give our pup calf milk, so that he can get stronger and thicker. I was concerned and needed to know if giving my pup calf milk will be healthy.

Calf milk is bought from our local animal farm supplies. Calf milk is a powder substance that is given to the calf. The calf milk has steroids and nutrients to make them healthier. Well our friends breed pitt bulls. They give there pitts calf milk (a powdered substance) mixed in with there food. I know that giving milk to dogs isn't good to do.

But has anyone heard of this theory?

Cow's milk is not good for puppies or dogs at all. For health, feed your dog a good quality of dog food and make sure he gets daily walks and exercise. That breed is naturally strong built. I have a pitt bull mix and she is sensitive to lamb. I feed her a mixture of Nature's Recipe Venison and Rice dry food and I slice up some "Beef and rice Log" by Pet Botanics. She also gets healthy treats like a good quality of dog biscuit, has heavy duty chew toys for her teeth and I don't over-bathe her. Occasionally, she gets "Frosty Paws" dog ice-cream, available in some major store chains like some Krogers, Randall's and Super Target stores in the human ice cream section. It has no real nutritional value but she loves it. She looks real good. Stay away from giving her milk!

Dogs can't digest lactose very well, so it would probably just make him have gas and diarrhea. If you want him to be big and muscular, feed him a high quality dog food with a whole meat as the first ingredient and no corn, wheat, meat meals, or meat byproducts.

It is only likely to give him diarhea, dogs do not digest cows milk.

Genetics, good kibble, and exercise will determine how strong your dog is.

I suggest Purina Little Bites and walking him on a harness. That's what we do with ours and he is very muscular.

exercise and LOTS of room to run is what your pup needs to thicken up.
