This question sounds really ignorant, but asking for an answer is the only way I know to learn. I have to reinstall
Windows XPSP2. I had downloaded and saved over ten programs to my desktop, but I haven't installed them yet. When I burn all my data to cd's, should I (can I) burn these setups to cd? Since the programs are not installed yet, they are not on the hard drive yet or are they? Or do I have to go back to the websites and download them all over again? Is the entire program literally sitting on my desktop? These are all freeware, so there should be no copyright problems in terms of copying to Cd for my personal use, if, in fact, it is possible to burn them to CD at all. I need this information from someone(s) who know the EASIEST way to handle this. Thanks.

Vzjrz: Thanks so much for info. I am still a bit confused. Maybe this is a better way to ask my question: Is the entire program contained in the setup or was it already put on the hard drive when I saved it to desktop during the dlownload process?

yes, you can burn setup files into a data cd and run them from the cd later.

yes You save all files in few CDs. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some RAM/ hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

Freeware is merely that, unfastened. you are able to burn the entire software to a CD, yet be confident to get all of it, alongside with setup, logs, etc. you are able to in all possibility get maximum of them back, yet you will need all your unique installation training. that is greater user-friendly to repeat them off earlier you reinstall XPSP2. i did not try this, and that i desire I had!
