Eye Twitching - What It Is, Why You Get It And How To Cope You are sitting down minding your own business when suddenly your eye starts to twitch. Eye twitching is a common but often perplexing phenomena that affects millions of people every year. Is it serious or just something to put up with? For most people eye twitching is not a serious condition and typically results from excessive fatigue or stress. For others eye twitching can lead to chronic irritation or vision problems. Let's talk a bit more about this unusual problem. Blepharospasm (Defined as Eye Twitching) Blepharospasm is the technical term for involuntary eye twitching (eye spasms). Blepharospasm is more specifically defined as an abnormal involuntary blinking or spasm of the eyelids. Eye twitching usually involves involuntary movements of the eyelid specifically. Some refer to this condition as eye spasms. Some doctors often refer to this condition when chronically present as "blinking disorder." Sounds pretty serious. But it may not be.

Geez, with so many doctors I'm sure one of the could direct you where to go or make some sort of diagnosis.
Eye twitching can be caused by stress or by using the computer too much (muscle fatigue). It usually only lasts a day or two though. Have that checked out.

3 main causes of eye twitching (myokymia):
1. Stress
2. Less sleep than normal
3. Stimulants (coffee, tea, cola, cocoa, chocolate and drugs)
Treatment: Avoid stimulants until twitch improves. Try to reduce stress and get enough sleep.

It could be a sign that your potassium is getting low. Potassium effects muscle funtion, so when it gets low, muslces twitch and spasm, and since the muscles in your eyelids are so sensative, it's really noticable there. Grab a sweet potato (something like 4 times the potassium as a banana) or a banana or two. Or you could take a potassium supplement for a few days.

With all your other medical conditions it's hardly surprising that you are run down and in need of a tonic. Possibly even iron supplements, you may be anemic. I suffer the same problem and for me it's always because I'm exhausted or my blood count is down and I'm iron deficient. Do mention it on Monday, at least to get a more professional diagnosis.

Do you watch TV a lot... if you do it might be that your eye might be exausted and you may want to rest it for a little bit or i can lead to a greater problem like slight loss of sight or even all... it could also be that you stay up too late on the computer and you're straining you eye. so try not doing thoes things and rest your eye up and good luck with getting it better.

It's just a nerve, I thought.
And bless your heart for all your problems. Do you know stress can make your whole body sick? EVERYwhere.
In your back. In your arms. In you rneck.
Don't let them operate until you try to manage stress or something like that.

It sounds like you have a lot of stress. I'm sure that contributes and could be worsened by excessive use of caffeine (I have the same problem and I easily clear 1 pot of coffee a day)
