if some one is bulimic how long before they end up in the hospital?

i know some one who has been bulimic for about a yr. how long before they end up in the hospital really sick. can u die from this.

Heck YES, they can die! They need HeLp fast!!

To me, nothing but NOTHING is worth trying to "pretend" I'm (or my body) is _any_ way it's "truly" not!!

If I'm 15 lbs overweight, or my hair falls out sooner than I'd rather it would, or it turns from blond to grey sooner than I'd like -- SO WHAT?!! I'm still ME, Chuck.

And if that's not good enough for you, I'll just pick up my tinker toys and go home where at least *I* love me. I don't need this competition crud, since it proves nothing. All competition does is feed the ego!! And if yours is hungry, a therapist is needed. Besides.... I'm already smelling an "Inferiority Complex" or teenager or a woman under 35 yo.

I just wish people would stop referring to bulimia as a "disease" unless a person wants to consider a self invoked line of 'thinking' as a "mental disease".

What do you mean, how long before they end up in the hospital??? Some people with eating disorders never make it to the hospital. It's not like, once you've been bulimic for a year, you go to the hospital. It's not a set path.

You can definitely die from bulimia. And if you don't send him/her (probably her) to the hospital, you know she won't take herself. If you don't do it, she might just die.

It all depends on how much your friend eats and throws up.Some people can control their Bulimia and maintain their weight. They have to have some kind of control with it for the simple fact , that's the only thing they feel they have control of.It is a very deadly diease and yes, it can kill you.Either way, if that person is bulimiac or anorexiac,an eating disorder can kill you,not only your esophogus, but also cause heart failier.These two dieases are very dangerous and hard to beat. If your friend wants help that bad, he or she will come to terms with he or she condition and get the help he or she needs.

Bulimia is serious but not as serious as anorexia. You can die but it will take a long time.You can get really really sick and burn your esophogus because the acid ruins the lining of the esophogus. She's going to want help, she cannot be forced.
